Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra, who completed six years of marriage on April 21, 2020, have invited much curiosity around their relationship ever since their relationship began. The couple prefer leading a private life, a fact that was made especially evident when they tied the knot back in 2014. Instead of hosting a large, star-studded celebration, the duo escaped the shutterbugs for their special day, making things official in a secret ceremony in Italy surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Years later, Rani Mukerji has now revealed that its this reclusive streak of Chopra's that had her falling for him in the first place.

“The reason why I fell in love with my husband was because he is extremely private,” the star said in a recent interview. “I am a very family-oriented person, I would go mad if my husband was working; as it is half the time he is in the studio. Imagine him having a social life beyond his films. I would not get to see him. I am very happy and content that he is not a social person. After his work, he comes back home to me.” The couple, along with their four-year-old daughter Adira, maintain a distance from the public eye even today.

During the talk, the actor also compared him to fellow film producer and close friend Karan Johar, saying, “For Adi, I feel if he was to be like Karan Johar, I don’t think I’d have fallen in love with him. Karan is everywhere, he is so social and he is the life of a party. Every day he is doing something or the other. The thing with me is that I need my family at home."

Earlier, Mukerji has also gone on record to say that Aditya Chopra's honesty is another personality trait that's earned her respect over time. In this particular interview, Mukerji elaborated by saying, "It is very difficult to respect people in the fraternity as you know them inside and out of everything. So, Adi was one of those rare people who I respected, who I still respect, because of his ethos, work pattern and the way he is. Because I am private myself, it makes us a really good couple as we are very happy going nowhere."
