The Hamamelis 'Arnold Promise', a robust shrub to small tree, reaches a height of about 3 metres and stands out with its round to fan-shaped growth and densely branched structure. This exceptional plant blooms with bright sulphur-yellow flowers, which can grow up to 4 cm in diameter. What makes these flowers particularly special is their pleasantly tart fragrance.

Unlike other yellow-flowering cultivars of Hamamelis, 'Arnold Promise' distinguishes itself with the autumn colours of its leaves. Where most yellow bloomers turn only yellow in the autumn, 'Arnold Promise' offers a spectacular palette of yellow, orange to red hues, making it not just a focal point in spring but also a colourful spectacle in autumn.

The origin of 'Arnold Promise' is as fascinating as its appearance. The plant was first noticed next to the office of Alfred Rehder at the Arnold Arboretum in the United States. Annually, this plant drew attention due to its rich bloom, beautiful colour, and pleasant scent. Alfred Rehder, who first documented the plant, recognized its unique value, but it was only later that it received the well-deserved name 'Arnold Promise'.
