Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei is engaged!

In October, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei announced the engagement of his son, Prince Abdul Mateen ibni Hassanal Bolkiah, to Anisha Rosnah.

“By the royal command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei Darussalam, the palace has announced the upcoming wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen and Anisha Isa Kalebic will be held from 7 to 16 January 2024,” the official announcement stated.

Prince Mateen, who is the Sultan's fourth son and 10th child, often accompanies his father on official royal engagements, including to the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier this year. Prince Mateen also joined his father at the royal wedding of Jordan's Prince Hussein and Rajwa Al Saif.

Prince Mateen and Anisha have reportedly been dating for years; Anisha is the granddaughter of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah's special advisors, Pehin Dato Isa. Anisha joined Prince Hussein earlier this year at the royal wedding of his sister, Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.

According to the Star, the Islamic ceremony will take place on January 11, and the wedding reception and a parade through Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, will take place on January 14.

To mark 2024, and a week until their wedding, Mateen shared a photo of himself and his fiancé on his Instagram, writing, "Wishing you all the best for 2024 💫"
