The Orange Chromide is an ideal peaceful cichlid best suited to a brackish aquarium. Although the fish does inhabit completely fresh water as well as brackish, in the aquarium the addition of salt greatly increases the fish's adaptability and resistance to disease. Orange Chromide's are also sensitive to fluctuations in water quality so they are best introduced into a mature tank with good filtration. Ideally provide a sandy bottom and hiding spots. Will mix with most fish with the exception of very small species.
