Irina Lazareanu is an international model who was born in Romania and grew up in Montreal, Canada. A trained dancer and dedicated musician, she befriended Pete Doherty during her years studying ballet in London and went on to tour with his band, Babyshambles.
Lazareanu came into contact with Kate Moss through Doherty who featured her in the December 2005 issue of French Vogue she was guest-editing at the time. Lazareanu has worked with a range of key fashion photographers including Steven Meisel and Miles Aldridge. She has made appearances in campaigns for Chanel, Balenciaga, Anna Molinari, Roberto Cavalli and The Kooples.
