Biography: Rita Hayworth was born Margarita Carmen Cansino into a family of dancers. Her paternal grandfather was the dancer Antonio Cansino, a world-renowned Spanish dancer and instructor who popularized the bolero. He oversaw her first dance lesson when she was three years old.

Rita Hayworth began her career as a dancer in her parents' studio, making her stage debut at the age of three. She appeared in a number of small film roles during the 1930s, often uncredited. Her breakthrough role came in the 1939 film, "Only Angels Have Wings", in which she played a singer/dancer.

During the 1940s, Rita Hayworth was one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood. She appeared in such films as "The Strawberry Blonde" (1941), "Cover Girl" (1944), and "Gilda" (1946). She was married to actor Orson Welles from 1943 to 1947.
