A cemetery is not an inherently creepy place. In fact, some of them can be quite peaceful. While the Black Diamond Cemetery is far from its only attraction, it's certainly the most notorious spot.
The history of the site dates all the way back to 1884, and the cemetery now has over 1200 gravestones.

It's even listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Many of the earliest gravesites belong to immigrants who came to the area as miners.

One grave contains the remains of eight miners who were killed in the Lawson Mine explosion in November of 1910.
