Who says tweed can’t be edgy? Chanel ambassador Kristen Stewart put her own rock-’n’-roll twist on the house’s signature fabric while attending the Metiers d’Art show in Manchester, England yesterday.
This involved an A-line dress made out of a speckled black and white tweed, featuring details like structured long sleeves, a plunging deep V neckline, a hemline that fell right above the knees, and—best of all—pockets. While the piece could easily veer into preppy territory, the Spencer star made the look her own.
The punk vibes were undeniable, due in no small part to a shiny pair of black leather high-top combat boots, which Stewart wore half-laced. She further subverted expectations with her choice of jewelry, opting for a few layers of silver chain necklaces, one of which bore a dangling lock pendant.
The actor’s glam completed her punk tweed transformation. Stewart debuted a new russet-red highlight fringe at the show, styling her newly dyed locks into a messy updo. As for her makeup, she wore a moody berry red lip and a smudged dark brown smoky eye.
Stewart, who has long worked with the French fashion house, is known for infusing her personal flair into the brand’s traditional style.
For instance, she attended Chanel’s Cruise 2023–2024 runway show this past May dressed in a pared-down gray tweed suit, which she unexpectedly paired with a slouchy white T-shirt, glossy black boots, and a chunky silver choker necklace bearing the brand’s iconic double-C logo.
