Melanotaenia Parva

Melanotaenia Parva

Melanotaenia parva known as Lake Kurumoi rainbowfish or Sunset Dwarf Rainbowfish is a species of freshwater rainbowfish in the subfamily Melanotaeniinae. It was endemic to West Papua in Indonesia. Its natural habitat was only the small Lake Kurumoi in the Bird's Head Peninsula.

Sunset dwarf rainbowfish are omnivorous and should be fed a quality flake food with supplemental proteins such as baby brine shrimp. They require clean water but tolerate a wide variety of water parameters. By providing frequent water changes, you will be rewarded with nearly continuous spawning attempts.

These fish have a vibrant array of colours that are naturally occurring, meaning that they are a true display of nature's beauty. These rainbowfishes are often a high-end collector species because of their rarity and beautiful colouration.
