Less than a year after their engagement news broke, Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker are officially married. Sources confirmed to People that the High School Musical alum and her professional baseball player fiancé said “I do” on December 2, 2023, in Tulum, Mexico.

The newlyweds first sparked marriage rumors on December 3, 2023, when a photo of Hudgens wearing a white dress—an off-the-shoulder number from Galia Lahav featuring a corset bodice, a front cut-out, and a high slit—and posing on the beach surfaced on X. The bridal gown designer later revealed that the picture was from the bride's welcome party. Then, Monique Coleman, Hudgens’ High School Musical former co-star posted a video of the tropical scenery in Tulum on her Instagram Story, which caused even more speculation.

On February 2, 2023, the public first learned that Hudgens and Tucker were engaged. While TMZ was the first to reveal the news, People confirmed the story the following day. Although the details of the proposal are uncertain, the MLB star popped the question at the end of 2022, according to TMZ.

A few months after the exciting news made the headlines, Hudgens told host Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show that wedding planning wasn’t easy. “It’s hard,” she admitted. There was one particular detail that was the most challenging for the actress. “I don’t know, finding a venue is really tough,” she shared. “I kind of just want to elope. I’m really…I’m lost.”

Two years before their engagement, in November 2020, the Princess Switch star and the professional athlete were first romantically linked after they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles. While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021, Hudgens opened up about how she first met the baseball player, which took place during a Zoom meditation. “I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” Hudgens recalled. “I found him, and we started talking.”

The actress also shared that she was the one to initiate the conversation with Cole. “If I want something or someone, I’m going after them,” she said. “I fully slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So, I think there is no shame in making the first move.” A year after they sparked dating rumors, the couple made their first red carpet debut at the premiere of Hudgens’ film, Tick … Tick …Boom!
