Asian Spotted Pleco... ID please?

Got this guy free with "new" used tank I picked up yesterday. Can someone ID? The guy who had it said it is an Asian Spotted Pleco, but I can't find much info or pics of one to compare. It is about +6" and around 2-3 years old.

The name given to it is very strange. Plecos usually aren't from Asia. Nice fish!

Yeah, whatever he is, he looks really cool. Currently he is the only bottom dweller in my 55 gal tank. I'm not too sure how big he will grow to, maybe about 12"?? I may have to upgrade tank or give him up later one. For now, I'm just gonna enjoy having him around

great pleco they will eat many veggies (zucchini,peas,spinach),they're not herbivorous plecs so you can feed them catfish pellets and like mushrooms
