Feeding: Frozen and Live foods about the size of Brine Shrimp, may eventually accept pellets and algae wafers
Notes: The Dragon Goby is a peculiar fish; for an animal of its size possessing sharp teeth and a wide mouth, they do not bother even the smallest of fish. They are somewhat territorial, though, and groups of these fish should be kept in very large tanks (100+ gallons). They feed by sifting through the substrate and using their teeth to scrape algae. Frozen food like brine shrimp is a good staple, best offered at night. Not being very active fish, they are best left without food competition from the likes of Catfish and Loaches.

Although often sold as freshwater fish, they are true brackish animals and will develop skin lesions if kept in fresh water for too long. They are hardy, though, and heal quickly once the water conditions are improved by adding marine salt mix.  These fish prefer dim tanks and do best with several caves to hide in.

Breeding has been accomplished in home aquariums. A harem-type set up seems to work best (1 male and 3 or more females) and can be triggered by feeding live foods and then lowering and subsequently raising the specific gravity. Fish fry are small and need green water and infusoria.
