Ammannia pedicellata 'Golden' is a distinguished variant of the Ammannia pedicellata species, characterized by its vibrant greenish-yellow to golden underwater foliage. This luminescent hue is complemented by a contrasting dark red stem, making it a visually striking plant in aquatic settings. The wild type, previously recognized as Nesaea pedicellata, has its origins in East Africa and can be observed both above and below water in ponds and swamps. The submerged leaves of the 'Golden' variant are long and slender, measuring up to 5 cm, and align either in pairs or whorls on its erect stems. These stems can extend to lengths surpassing 30 cm.

For optimal growth, the Golden Nesaea, much like the standard Ammannia pedicellata, requires robust lighting, CO2 enrichment, a comprehensive supply of both macro and micronutrients, particularly from the substrate, and a preference for softer water. It thrives best within a temperature spectrum of 71°F to 82°F. When planting, it's recommended to allow adequate spacing between shoots to ensure lower leaves receive sufficient light, as excessive shading can lead to the darkening and eventual shedding of these leaves. Propagation is straightforward, typically achieved via cuttings from shoot tips and lateral shoots.

When positioned as a cluster in the midground to background sections of medium to large aquariums, Ammannia pedicellata 'Golden' offers a visually arresting golden touch. It juxtaposes beautifully against plants of dark green, deep red, and those with fine textures.
