calcarifer: SW Saudi Arabia, Yemen (?); type locality: Bembatuka [= Bombetoka] (in error for Arabian Peninsula; probably near Aden, Yemen). See comment.

Diagnosis 
Commentmember of subgenus Chamaeleo.

Distribution: The original type locality “Bembatuka” is on the west coast of Madagascar and was given by PETERS in error. 
EtymologyNamed after Gr. kalyptra > L. calyptra, veil or cover; L.: -atus/a/um, adjectival suffix: veiled or covered, denoting the presence of an extremely elevated casque (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
