What is the Short Textured Quiff Haircut?

The short textured quiff is a haircut that has become a staple for men over the past year or so. It takes typically short styles and adds a longer length on top. As per the name, the haircut is all about being heavily textured all over giving a messier look to the hair that is easy to style. Short Textured Quiff Haircut - What Is It? How To Style It?

What length do I need to get the haircut?

The back and sides will be taken short, often down to a low to mid skin fade, with the top being kept shorter through the back, and longer in the fringe area. You'll probably want around 1.5-2.5 inches through the back of the top getting longer towards the fringe, with anywhere from 2-3 inches in the fringe area.

How to ask your barber for the Short Textured Quiff haircut?

As we always say, it's best to show your barber a picture. Names can often get confused, especially with so many different variations on haircuts now out there. Show your barber some of the clear pictures from this post. But, if you do want to know for your own reference you'd typically be looking for anywhere from a low to medium fade on the back and sides with the top heavily textured, leaving the fringe slighly longer to give you something to play with. What variations are there?

The top will be pretty similar in most variations, but the main difference will come with the back and sides. It will all be dependent on how short you want to go and how high you take the fade. Communicate with your barber as your hair colour and face shape will be the main differentiators in deciding how high and how short you want to go with the back and sides. How to style the Short Textured Quiff haircut?

The best thing about the short textured quiff is requires very little styling. Once washed, blow dry your hair not worrying too much about the style for the most part, and then when it's close to drying push the front of the hair up. Finish with a matte finish product like the Regal Gentleman Matte Clay for a natural finish with a reworkable hold.
