I'm not really sure where all the negative reviews are coming from. I'm guessing based on the comments that they were written from an "in-patient" perspective, to which I've not had any experience with. However, the outpatient part here has been nothing but amazing. They communicate very well, they are direct with no BS, accommodating and work with you to actually assist, instead of creating more stressors. Terra is an office manager here and has made the experience so seamless, setting the true expectations from the beginning. Krystal is a therapist, who is simply amazing bc she is able to be bluntly honest without coming off as insensitive or a jerk. She educates. So many people need this for themselves! I for one, have always appreciated things coming without beating around the bush!

If I could give this terrible facility zero stars I would. I have no idea how this place is still even in operation. Please never take your loved ones to this facility because they will not be cared for. My dad has Alzheimer's and was sent to this hospital for a short period of time. In the few weeks he resided here he was treated extremely poorly by staff, nurses and doctors. Calling the facility to talk to him was nearly impossible and we were never able to ever get an update on how my dad was doing. We were constantly leaving messages for someone to call us back who never did. Finally when we were able to transfer my father out of this terrible place, they transferred him without notifying the new facilty they were on their way for starters. Next, all of the medications and clothes my dad had were not transferred with him nor does any of the staff members know where his belongings are which makes us believe that when we originally took his things to him that the staff never gave him his own clothes. Just an absolute horrible facility. I hope to God I never have to have dealings with this facility ever again. Staff, nurses and doctors have no business caring for anyone loved ones in that place. I hope one day this facility closes for good so no one else ever has to go through the horrible treatment they provide their patients.

I was admitted to this garbage dump a little over a month ago, It was a terrifying experience. The staff are not trained, The so called Nurse practitioner's, doctor and nurses go out of their way to be confrontational and provoke the patients then force them to take "the 12 hour knock out shot" that is what the other patients call the drugs given to you against your will for any resistance to what they tell you to do there.

They took me off the majority of my meds, meds for heart, diabetes and lung conditions, I am on oxygen all the time but they only had one old oxygen machine and they refused to help me get from my room to the day room with oxygen, so I would have to go without my oxygen for hours at a time.
I was threatened with the "12 hour shot" multiple times for simply asking to see the meds they were trying to force me to take before they took them out of the little packs with the name of the drug on them. I wanted to know what I was being given, they refused to let me see what the names of the drugs were.

I witnessed other patients being abused by the staff, refusing to help the elderly with feeding. One lady needed all her food fed to her and the staff only spent minutes feeding her before saying she had enough and walked away. The food was disgusting, you never got the whole meal that was posted on the wall. The food was served in Styrofoam containers, it was always cold, the grease would be solid it was so cold. Everyone on the unit was hungry all the time. If you happened to be late to the meal room you never got any food, the staff would eat it. The so-called snacks were all junk food like little debbie cakes. Nothing for persons like me that is diabetic. The staff also went through the snacks and took what they wanted before offering anything to the patients. The only drink I could have was water, they had nothing for diabetics to drink. I take insulin at home with each meal, I was not given any of my regular diabetic meds, my blood sugar was over 200-300 the whole time I was there.

There was not one counselor there the whole time I was there. Not a single professional person to talk to about what was happening to me. I was admitted because the man I was with for 23 years died the day before my admission, I was in shock and emotional. When one staff member saw me crying they tried to force me to take the "12 hour shot", I told them no I would not take the med, I was grieving and crying, you don't need to knock someone out with heavy drugs for crying. Anytime I questioned what they were doing to me or another patient the staff would argue and yell at me and others, always threating to "give you the shot,"

The staff sat behind the desk 95% of the time, refusing to answer simple questions or help any of the patients. If I had wanted to hurt myself it would have been very easy, no one checked on you. The nurses actually pushed a med cart out with all the patient's drugs in cups sitting on top with a name on it. Any of the patients could have walked up and taken multiple cups with other people's meds and walked away. The plug in my room was shooting sparks, I had to plug in and unplug my oxygen machine in and my bed multiple times a day and every time I did it would spark, when reporting this to staff they told me not to use that plug, which was not possible because there were only 2 plugs in the room and I had to have my oxygen and bi-pap machine, my bed and my roommates bed all plugged in. It would have been easy to electrocute myself.

Please do not send your loved one to this place, they will not get the help they need. I left with so much anxiety and more grief then when I arrived with. It took me a month to start feeling better after doing without my regular meds while there. I still have nightmares of my time there and feel so much anxiety in even thinking about asking for any further help in fear I would be sent back there.

Terrible traumatizing place. I had a nurse yell at me and call me a Bitch. Sent me away and called me back up 4 times before finally giving me my meds. HIPPA violations all over. Staff laughing at a patient for being upset about not getting his heart medicine. I found a bed bug 2nd day there. No supportive, or therapeutic treatment given. Discharging someone with no guaranteed placement or place to go. Then leaving it up to the driver to figure out where to take this person when they have no where to go and they already drove them the 2hrs back to his home city. This was a 60 something yr old who could barley walk. I had to get on the phone and call another shelter for him.

Staff unprofessional refused to call family back. We left messages time after time for social worker patient advocate doctors nurses to call us back. We had to call and call to find out family members condition. This place did not involve family prior to family member being probated. We found out later only because we kept calling. Horrible communications with staff even after release of information was signed for us to communicate about family members condition. They did not involve us in the care. Family member attacked by other patient. Had to go to another hospital for injuries. Patients aren't safe from other patients. Very hostile conditions. This would be a horrible frightening experience for some new patients. Please they need to investigate this place. It violates patient and family rights. The more people that speak up the safer and healthier patients stay would be. And family would feel at ease.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My mom was sent here a few years ago, for BPD. As others are saying, this place reminded me of a prison when I would visit my mom. She seemed scared, cou don't find any of her belongings, worse than went in. My mom did not get help she needed. It was awful. And, last time she was in ER waiting on transfer, I told them they were NOT to send her here, period.

Staff is horrible. They treat you like crap. Not sanitary. Staff seems to only care about their paychecks rather than helping others in need.

My mom did two stints at OHP several years ago due to severe manic episodes and she stated that she felt like a prisoner both times. She said she seldom came out of her room, barely spoke to any health care "professionals" even when she requested them. She also stated that the facility promised a jam packed daily schedule of group and individual therapy/meetings that never happened. I vividly remember the handful of visits I made to her during her time there she seemed drugged out of her mind and wasn't cognitively alert. From a family members perspective, the visits always felt like sitting in a prison and we were only allowed to visit for 30 minutes at like 8:00pm one day a week. I feared for her safety every single day she was there. I'm baffled that this place is still open and functional. Based on my mothers experiences, I tend to believe the other negative comments. 0 out of 10 would recommend.

This place is hell and should be shut down. It is extremely overpriced and is a prison. I've been admitted to this place twice in May 2016 and Oct 2016. By how close those two times were, you can tell that hospitalization didn't work. The treatments subpar, the food was garbage. Some days, they wouldn't even let us go outside to get some fresh air. The game pieces were all missing in the Monopoly set and pages were missing in the books. There was nothing to do except watch tv, nap, or get a friend or family member to send you stuff to do. The nurses barely pay attention to you which is even more emotionally damaging to a depressed person who feels alone and unheard.

They pump you full of drugs to the point of becoming a zombie. I later looked up that the medicine prescribed to me was for SEIZURES and not an anti-depressant. The psychiatrist kept changing my meds when it takes weeks for meds to be effective.

If you're in a mental health crisis, pray that you will never end up in this place. UP YOURS, OHP!

I want to emphasize that I would give this facility 0 stars if it were available. It's generous to even give them 1. The staff are rude, belittling, and dismissive. The doctor/NP spoke with me for maybe 10 minutes and gave me a false diagnosis with no explanation as to what it was. I asked for more information, but they wouldn't even give me a WebMD printout or anything. There is no 1 on 1 therapy there. Multiple staff confirmed that. During the weekends, there are no doctors or therapists making rounds. There are no groups on the weekends either. I only saw a social worker twice during my 5 day stay. Once on my first day, and once on my last day. They fed me food I was allergic to, and I got an allergic reaction. I mentioned this to the staff, but they all claimed they didn't know. I clearly saw someone write it down after I listed my allergies when I first arrived. A woman got assaulted while I was there, but she's the one who got transferred, not the man who assaulted her. They blatantly ignore phone calls when they are sitting at the desk. Most of the staff barely speak English in a place where you are receiving lots of important information. No one cares when you bring up concerns unless you make a scene. However, making a scene might make you stay longer. We are just dollar signs to this place. The worst money I've ever spent. I'll have more luck with my regular therapist and NP.
