Krekel's Custard

Great burger and fries place. Smash style burger. Cheap and tight on meat and extras. The place retains the almost psychotic frugality of the old man that opened the original back in the war days. The west store is clean and comfortable along with the new north side store. Very nice. The hamburger meat in the north side seems to be mostly soy meal mix. Noticeably different than the other stores. I don't care for it at all.

Always great burgers and fries!! And no matter which location I frequent, it's always hot and tasty!

Food is always cold or warm. When I called and told the manager that I received a triple cheeseburger besides a double he told me to take the extra meat off. Poor service.

I am never disappointed with the quality of food at Krekels on Oakland Ave. It is my "go to". Their custards, shakes and flavored cokes are scrumptious! Hamburgers are best around!
Only drawback is they're very skimpy with the condiments. I always have to ask for extra to get enough.

I'm glad krekel's exists. The food is amazing, the service is great and the shakes are great. the only issue I have is the fake homeless people begging for money and food. But besides that this is great.

I got a chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It was really good! The fries were really good to! The only problem was that service was kinda slow but that's understandable because it's Friday. I would highly recommend!

Hamburgers were delicious and fresh. Fried were perfect and the service was fast. The establishment was clean.

Whenever we come to my husbands hometown of Decatur Illinois. They are a hometown burger joint! Their custard and milkshakes are awesome! Lemon Custard is my favorite. They are always busy so be prepared for a wait, even going through drive thru. It's worth it. This place is family friendly.

Being born and raised in San Diego and having In N Out Burger, I never thought I would find another place that I instantly fell in love with. Until I came here. This burger is one of a kind and definitely worth a visit every time I find myself in Decatur. I got the single cheeseburger and it was perfectly cooked. The burger has a crispy type ring around it that just topped it off. It's indescribable. I definitely recommend this to anyone in the area.

customer service sucks. i was excited to try this place for the first time bc the pictures on here look great. but sadly was greeted with a very rude worker on the drive thru. i'll post an update after i eat the food.
okay so the food is good you can totally tell the burgers were made fresh and they have that awesome home made taste. fries are mediocre need seasoning. but the burger was good! i got the #2 which is a double cheeseburger. would I eat here again? sure the worker that greeted me at the window was so nice compared to the drive thru speaker girl
