Nano tank species Part 1 (2.5g-20g)

Okay, I’m going to try to compile a list of nano species of fish for nano tanks. It’ll be a very general list overall, but give people additional ideas on what to do with their smaller tanks. All species in mind are based on opinion and research and with the consideration they’re either being kept in a species only tank or one with maybe one additional tank mate. Please do additional research on any fish you choose to get and adjust your maintenance and setup accordingly. Also note that some of these fish are very, very rare in the hobby with only a couple of online breeders selling them. This is to give you an idea beyond the common betta, dwarf puffer or guppies setup.
