This particular Datura wrightii, which I personally nicknamed it "Moon Child" grows wild in the wilderness of Escalante, UT (see Personal Note below). I encountered the plants in 2020 while hiking in Escalante. I was so in awe that I collected some seeds and grew them in my poison garden. A perennial native to the deserts of Utah (and possibly Southern California, Texas and Mexico), it has an almost identical appearance as the other Datura wrightii I grow -- dark green fuzzy leaves and stems, huge trumpet flowers tinged with lavender, spiky fruits that grows hanging down, grows in a creeping manner... The scent of this datura from Utah is also same (or indistinguishably similar) as Datura wrightii. The only real differences between this D. wrightii and the other D. wrightii is in the fruits and seeds. Even then the differences are extremely subtle. The therapeutic and entheogenic usage of "Moon Child" is same as D. wrightii (and D. inoxia). "Moon Child" grows well in nutrient-rich, sandy soil in full sun, It is drought tolerant but it thrives with somewhat regular watering, as long as the soil is well-draining. Each packet includes ~20+ seeds. Growing instructions included. A Personal Note from Eimi: I didn't know what datura variety that was growing wild in Utah at first. I determined that these datura seeds are same as (or close relative of) D. wrightii based on the plant appearance when compared to the other D. wrightii. Upon doing some research, I've found some regard this as Toloache or Purple Toloache, while others might call it Datura meteloides. I nicknamed this datura "Moon Child" because the original seeds were collected during full moon, and the first generation of the plants germinated around full moon as well. And since datura has lots of associations with the Moon in general, I think it's fitting to name her after the Moon. CAUTION: All parts of the plant, including seeds and roots, are poisonous. Handle with care -- wear gloves or wash hands with soap immediately after handling. DO NOT INGEST ANY PART OF THE PLANT, INCLUDING SEEDS AND ROOTS. All Poison and Bee seeds are grown naturally and lovingly by Eimi on her little farm in Central Texas. All Poison and Bee seeds are sold as curios and are for educational purpose only. Grown with 🖤 in USA.
