A relict of the Pleistocene of southern Europe, Testudo hermanni is an ideal example of the palearctic tortoises.

A pair was once exhibited alongside ornate mastiguires & a veiled chameleon in RepTopia's former Mediterranean exhibit, which has since been converted into a Yucatán Gulf Coast enclosure for beaded lizards.

@Casuarius_casuarius the open-topped enclosure now houses the Australian skinks and bearded dragon. The beaded lizards are now exhibited side by side with the Gila monsters and Western diamondback rattlesnakes
