OBITUARIES 

ANDERSON, JANE 

CROWE, departed this life for 

her heavenly home on June 4, 

2012 at Hospice of the Golden 

Isles in Brunswick, Georgia. 

She was born on June 21, 

1924 on a farm in Tellico 

Plains, Tennessee, where her 

parents William Thomas and 

Winnie Jane Hunt Crowe, lovingly 

raised her. Her education 

at Knoxville Business College 

led her to work for the 

Knoxville Utilities Board, 

where she met her future husband, 

the late Newell Sanders 

(Andy) Anderson. They married 

at Central Methodist 

Church in 1945. After a few 

years at home raising her family,she 

returned to work at KUB 

as the beautiful and smiling 

face at the downtown information 

desk. She was able to 

touch many lives through her 

work, retiring in 1995, after 30 

years of service. She was a 

passionate member of Central 

Methodist Church for over 60 

years. In addition to her primary 

devotion to her church 

family, where she served in 

many capacities, she gave 

selflessly to many other worthy 

causes. These include; Baptist 

Hospital Auxiliary, Ossoli Circle, 

Girls Club of Knoxville, 

March of Dimes, United Way, 

YWCA, Knoxville Nativity Pageant, 

Angel Ministries, Meals 

on Wheels, and Habitat for 

Humanity. She was truly a 

"Tennessee Volunteer" and 

faithful servant to God. She left 

the world a better place for 

being in it. Words cannot express 

how much her vibrant 

and loving spirit will be missed. 

We will see you in Heaven! 

Her special ministry was sending 

notes of encouragement 

on every occasion and visiting 

the sick and infirm. Her Christian 

witness was a blessing to

felony fleeing, failing to 

stop halt frisk, and driving 

on revoked license second 

offense was George Scott 

Mizer of McMinn Street, 

Athens. 

Johnson said he swerved 

and brought his patrol car 

to a stop on High Street as 

Mizer’s truck approached 

him, attempting to dodge, 

but Mizer fled up the 

street at a high rate of 

speed toward Monroe 

Street. 

As Johnson pursued, 

Mizer apparently lost con- 

trol and slammed into a 

fence and a tree. He then 

dropped from the truck 

and continued to flee on 

foot. Johnson said, however, 

the flight did not succeed 

as Mizer was 

apprehended. 

A quick check of 

Mizer’s driving status determined 

his license was 

revoked, following a conviction 

in McMinn 

County in January. 

A passenger in the truck 

who was identified as Eric 

Van Camp, also of Athens, 

who was wanted on outstanding 

warrants out of 

Athens and who Johnson 

charged with a Sweetwater

and when she returned approximately 

20 minutes

and onto her brother, 

crushing him. 

Russell said he arrived 

on scene at the same time 

as Monroe County Emergency 

Medical Services 

personnel and was advised 

by paramedic William 

Cross that there were no 

signs of life following an 

examination of Ramsey. 

The Monroe County 

Rescue Squad transported 

Ramsey to Sweetwater 

Hospital, where he was 

pronounced as deceased,

When she awoke on

Wednesday, she said she 

found her 55-inch flatscreen 

television missing 

from her living room. 

When Johnson made contact 

with Van Camp following 

a truck crash on 

Monroe Street, Van Camp 

admitted to taking the set 

and selling it. 

Van Camp, however, 

would not tell Johnson 

where or to whom he sold 

the television.
