Bacopa monnieri commonly called as brahmi or water hyssop belongs to the Plantaginaceae family. It is a soft, perennial, creeping herb having succulent leaves. This edible plant has branches that creep in a horizontal manner to cover the ground. Brahmi is used as a powerful brain tonic in Ayurveda from ancient time.
