Fans of Meera Jasmine are beyond thrilled as the actress is back with the Malayalam movie, Queen Elizabeth. Directed by M Padmakumar, the film also features Narain in the lead role. Released on December 29, Queen Elizabeth marks the reunion of Meera and Narain after 15 years. The duo was last seen together in Minnaminnikoottam in 2008.
Meera Jasmine had made her comeback last year, with acclaimed director Sathyan Anthikad’s Makal. She was last seen in Tamil cinema in the film Vingyani (2014), and in the Telugu film Moksha (2013). The Run actor is also working on a Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Vimanam.

Queen Elizabeth's plot

The film is billed as a light-hearted entertainer set in an urban backdrop. It is said to be about a headstrong unmarried woman who leads a simple life, without interfering in other people's lives. While her character is frowned upon by the people around her, Narain's character is said to be in a pursuit to win her over. As per the makers, the film is a middle-aged rom-com that has a satirical tone.
The script of Queen Elizabeth is written by Arjun T Sathyan, who previously wrote the story of Rakshadikari Baiju Oppu and the screenplay for Santhosham.

Apart from Meera Jasmine and Narain, the film also stars stars Shweta Menon, Ramesh Pisharody, VK Prakash, Shyamaprasad, Johny Antony, Mallika Sukumaran, Jude Anthany Joseph, Arya, Shruthi Rajanikanth, Sania Babu, Neena Kurup, Manju Pathrose, Vineeth Vishwam, Ranji Kankol and Chitra Nair as the supporting cast.
Produced by director M Padmakumar along with Ranjith Manambarakkat and Sreeram Manambarakkat, the technical team of Queen Elizabeth features Jithu Damodar as the cinematographer and Akhilesh Mohan as the editor. The film has music composed by Ranjin Raj.
