We all need a self-sufficient yet dependable year-round plant in our garden - just water this acorus and you're good to go!
Available in store
CloseGrassy-leafed sweet flag is one of those old reliables - plant it, give it sufficient water, and this variegated acorus will happily, quietly, do its thing. A deeper green and more cream-colored leaves than its golden sister, 'Ogon,' variegated sweet flag can go from full sun to shade, though its variegation wanes in deep shade. Brown tips is the first clue that its not getting enough water, but if the grass-like leaves get too tired looking, simply give it a haircut, and let the new growth take over. Acorus is a wonderful addition to container planters and hanging baskets, giving added height and textural interest year-round.
