NeoFolk-en

NeoFolk, the latest Spring collection of the brand, is the contemporary interpretation of rich Polish traditions and folk culture, in which the symbolism of motifs and colours plays such an important role.

NeoFolk is reaching to the roots in order to get to know the most characteristic properties of Polish culture. It is an interpretation of tradition, and its introduction into the world of fashion in a contemporary, eclectic way.

Irrespective of the geographic latitude or climate, people looking for beauty and happiness have always turned to colour.

NeoFolk was created together with Dorota Koziara, an internationally appreciated Polish artist and designer, who designed the NeoFolk fabric collection. Before she commenced working, Dorota Koziara undertook a long research trip searching for inspiration. The effects of this voyage became the basis for the collection for her and Rafał Gmerek, the head ladies’ collection designer at Tatuum.

You shall find in the NeoFolk collection both elegant, classic-cut suit jackets as well as airy, folkloric dresses, skirts and tops. The beauty of the NeoFolk collection is also the fusion of narrow-cut clothing lines with loose, comfortable forms.

The fabrics in the NeoFolk collection is both a return to the roots of what is Polish, as well as the brand Tatuum itself. For ages, linen was the typical fabric in central Europe; it had a significant presence in the collections since the beginnings of the brand. Beside linen, a very important fabric is ECOVERO viscose, a material manufactured according to sustainable development thoughts. NeoFolk is a fusion of the traditional and the contemporary, with a particular focus on responsible fashion.

The NeoFolk collection is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Polish folk patterns and their beautiful colours.

The collection includes inspirations by the band forms from the regions of Łowicz and Kielce, the folk attire from the Kraków region, and in particular the exotic peacock feather pattern that it includes, as well as motifs from embroidery from the Kaszuby and Pałuki regions, in the form of buds or tulips – or – last but not least – the motif of the sun.

The rich colours of the traditional folk attire are strong reds, burgundies, rose and violet colours in the collection.

KLECZI

Kleczi is a pattern inspired by the culture of the Kaszuby region. It symbolises the bud, one of the most popular motifs found in the famous Kaszuby embroidery

FULLOWICZ

FULLOVICZ is dedicated to the beautiful, colourful and bold colour patterns found in the band motifs from the region of Łowicz, which inspired this particular pattern.

SOLE

This delicate pattern is inspired by one of the components of the embroidery of Kaszuby, symbolised by the sun.

CRACLOVE

The CRACLOVE pattern is inspired by the folk attire from Kraków, in particular its key symbol, the magical and exotic peacock feather.

TUCHOLSKI

The pattern named TUCHOLSKI relates to the unique culture of the Pałuki region and the tulip motif frequently found in embroidery – turned into a graphical symbol here.

BLULOVICZ

This design was inspired by colourful cut-outs, which are the best recognisable component of the culture of Łowicz beside the band motifs.
