Geogenanthus ciliatus has been known to houseplant collectors for a long time, but until now it has been available only as a collectors' item. Winner of 2022 ''Best New Foliage'' title at Tropical Plant International Expo.
It hails from the tropical rainforest of South America (more specifically from Ecuador and Peru). It populates the forest floor and is very tolerant of low light conditions. Leaves are blackish-green to near black and very shiny. Prefers temperatures above 20º C. Is a rather slow-growing species but produced new shoots and takes on amore bushy appearance the older it gets.
