The aquacultured Caudopunctatus cichlid (Neolamprologus caudopunctatus) is another African cichlid we just added to our livestock. In the wild it naturally occurs in the Tangayika lake on the Zambia shore. On average it can grow up to about 2.5 inches, so an aquarium tank of 30 gallons is our minimum recommended size to keep this cichlid. Hobbyist's can include a sandy bottom in its new home for it to feel at home. Care for it as you would care for other cichlids in the same genus. To keep it in optimal health, feed it a variety of meaty and frozen foods.
