Is this the world's ugliest cat?

Usually when we think of cats and kittens, we imagine warm, fuzzy, furry creatures who look adorable all of the time. But not all cats have the benefit of good looks.

Take this guy for instance. Ugly Bat Boy (yes, that is his name) has become somewhat of a media sensation recently. He's the prized pet of New Hampshire veterinarian Dr. Stephen Bassett. The cat lived as an outdoor cat for seven years, but now spends most of his time hanging around in the vet's office.

According to this article from People Pets the cat has been known to scare children or shock people with his appearance.

The breed of Ugly isn't known. He definitely has a very strange look with a furless back end, large yellow eyes and a hairy chest.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Basset seems to think quite highly of his feline friend. He says "He's a pretty strikingly handsome cat. He really has a beautiful face."
