Origin
The Peperomia 'USA', also known as the American Peperomia, originates from South America. There are over a thousand registered species, but this specific variety owes its popularity to the striking colour variations of its leaves. South America, specifically the Amazon rainforest, is the biome where most of these species exist in the wild.

Characteristics
The Peperomia 'USA' is a small indoor plant, characterised by its sturdy, fleshy leaves with a rich variation of green. These leaves grow in a rosette formation, contributing to its distinct appearance. The plant is not fast-growing and reaches a height of about 15 to 30 centimetres. The leaf stalks are similar in structure to bamboo sticks and are equally rigid.

Care
In terms of care, the Peperomia 'USA' is an easy-going plant. It needs a moderate light level, but also tolerates partial shade. In general, the more varied the leaves, the more light the plant needs. Watering is relatively minimal - the soil may dry out somewhat between watering sessions. Planting in a planter with good drainage reduces the risk of root rot. Excessive cold or warm temperatures can be harmful to the plant, the ideal temperature ranges between 15 and 24°C.
