Spawned egg.
It's successfully fertlized now.

Finally i succeed breeding of Polypterus mokelembembe.
Most of the eggs are fertlized and divising now.

By my breeding experience of other polypterus species, there will be no problem to make them hatch and raise to sub adult size.



I will update about growing of frys soon

is that a bichir u bred but WOW I can't belive u did that. UNLIKELY like winning the lottery. It's harder than breeding arowanas I bet but hey has anyone bred feshwater stingrays or saltwater sharks?
Plenty on both sides. Go check out the rays forum :)

Yeah rays and sharks seem to breed at the drop of a hat.
Polypterids are very difficult to breed.

Polypterids are very difficult to breed.
I don't think they are difficult per se, but rather there is a long maturation time needed and most of our poly tanks are not kitted for breeding polys. As you can see Giseok uses a breeding mop mat to catch the eggs. A previous member in Europe had 6 large lapradei and often found eggs in the filter mats in the sump without any additional effort..
