Cute Duck Amigurumi pattern
Create your very own adorable duck Amigurumi with this free duck crochet pattern! This is an easy small beginner crochet project that you can make in a few hours. It is a great pattern for left over yarn. I love making mini animal because they just take a little bit of time to create. As a result, you will have such a cute gift.
For the smaller duck Amigurumi, I used sport weight cotton yarn, for the larger version, I used chenille Super Bulky plush yarn.
Duckling crochet pattern:
The pattern below is for a mallard duck, but you can easily change this duck into a duckling, by changing the colors to yellow for the body.

Supplies:
– Scissors
– Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16
– Pins
TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a 8.0 mm crochet hook.
For Bulky Velvet yarn I recommend a 3.5 mm crochet hook.
Free duck crochet pattern:
Body:
- Change to white yarn
- Rnd 13: sc in all 16 st (16)
- Change to brown yarn
- Rnd 14: ch 4 (photo 5), Start in second ch from hook, sc in next 3 stitches,
(sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 4 times (23 + 3ch) (photo 6)

- Rnd 15: sc in next 3 st, inc in next st, 22 in next st (27)
- Stuff the body with fiberfill and continue stuffing as you go.
- Rnd 16-17: sc in all 27 st (27)
- Rnd 18: sc in next st, dec 3 times, sc in next st (sc in next st, dec in next st) repeat 6 times, sc in next st (18)
- Rnd 19: dec, sc in next st, dec, 13 in next st (16)
- Rnd 20: dec 8 times (8)
- Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail. Using your yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pull it tight to close.
Beak:
- Use yellow yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Rnd 2: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times (8)
- Fasten off with a slst, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the flattened beak between the eyes on round 9 of your duck Amigurumi.
Feet 2x:
- Use orange yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Fasten off with a slst, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the feet on rounds 19 and 20 with an interspace of 1 st.
Wing 2x:
- Use brown yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Rnd 2-3: sc in all 6 st (6)
- Rnd 4: (sc in next st, dec in next st) repeat 2 times (4)
- Fasten off with a slst, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the wings on the side of the body between rounds 14 and 17.
