Earlier this week, Amogy released our latest white paper "Ammonia as a Clean Energy Solution for Maritime Use". I'd consider it a must-read for anyone involved with decarbonization efforts in the maritime industry! Some of the key items are: - Ammonia's potential for decarbonizing maritime applications - Ammonia's performance compared with alternative fuel options - Policies and industry initiatives required to drive uptake throughout the maritime shipping sector You can download the white paper via the following link: https://lnkd.in/dGaMMmnb

FuelEU Maritime, a regulation supporting shipping industry decarbonization, will take effect from 1st January 2025 in the European Union (EU). Its primary goal is to increase the share of renewable and low-carbon fuels in international maritime transport. The European Parliament (EP), Council of the European Union, and the European Commission (EC) have reached an agreement on the FuelEU Maritime regulation, and it is expected to be formally adopted later in 2023. This regulation sets well-to-wake greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity requirements for energy used on board ships trading in the EU from 2025. Additionally, it mandates the use of shore power for container and cruise ships in certain EU ports starting from 2030. This ambitious initiative aims to drive the maritime industry towards a more sustainable future. #europeanunion #imo #dnv #fuelEU #maritimeindustry DNV | International Maritime Organization | Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India |
