Product information
Gold spotted dwarf danio - Boraras merah
Boraras merah is another very peaceful nano fish that can be socialized very well with shrimp. The golden spotted danio also prefers soft to medium hard water and is so small that it cannot really be dangerous to shrimp babies. A great eye-catcher in the shrimp aquarium and thanks to its beautiful markings, a real visual stunner in the aquarium! - Garnelio

Description

The goldspotted or goldspotted dwarf carp(Boraras merah) comes from the island of Borneo, where it lives in swamp waters and blackwater streams. This small carp fish grows only 2-3 cm. On an orange-reddish to silvery ground it bears an oval black spot surrounded by a bright orange border, from which an orange-black interrupted stripe runs towards the caudal fin. The transparent fins bear black and red markings. Males are usually more slender and slightly more intensely colored than females.

The goldspotted dwarf rasbora remains small, likes humic soft to at most medium hard water with a pH below 7 and prefers weedy tanks. This makes the sociable mini fish ideal for socializing with other soft water rasboras and also with Shrimp. Even bee shrimp continue to reproduce in its company, the mini-small mouth is no danger to baby shrimp.

A standard 60 cm aquarium is large enough for keeping a school of the gregarious Goldspotted Beardtails in a group size of 10. However, a large school of 30-40 Boraras merah looks particularly impressive in a larger, properly planted aquarium. Socialization with dwarf crayfish usually goes wrong, as the nano fish also like to hang out in plants near the bottom and then get caught and eaten.

The Goldspotted Hawkfish likes to eat finely grated flake food or small granulated food, but should in any case also be fed with fine frozen food such as rotifers or cyclops or with very small live food such as slipperfish or artemiauplii, vinegar eels, microworms or banana worms.

Breeding of the Goldspotted Babbler is not easy: To get into spawning mood, the fish need varied high quality food and humic, very soft and clean water. Boraras merah are unfortunately not very productive, the number of eggs per spawning is very small. Catch the parent fish back out of the breeding tank immediately after mating and spawning to prevent them from eating the eggs. The tiny fish larvae need infusoria such as rotifers or paramecia, they can eat artemiauplia only relatively late.

Our food recommendation: The professional NatureHolic Nanofeed is a staple food for all small aquarium fish. This mini fish food and rearing food is a fine soft granulate, which thanks to its softness resembles the consistency of tiny crustaceans and insect larvae and protects the delicate mouth of nano fish and fry from micro injuries.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
