This plant requires little attention while providing tons of color and texture to the home aquarium, the Red Flame is a great sword plant for beginners. Hardy and undemanding, it's wide tall leaves add swaying movement and a lush backdrop to planted community tanks.
Echinodorus Red Flame is a hybrid between Echinodorus schlueteri 'Leopard' and Echinodorus barthii. Red Flame is very similar in appearance to The Ozelot Sword, but with larger swatches of red running along with its leaves compared to the leopard-like spots of the Ozelot.
The Red Flame is a relatively easy plant to maintain but grows rather large in the aquarium. Use this plant as a background in the smaller aquarium, and as a mid-ground focal point in the larger aquarium. Do not allow the leaves of this plant to shade neighboring plants. It requires a moderate level of light of 2 to 3 watts per gallon provided by full spectrum (5000-7000K) bulbs.
Reproduction within this species is by adventitious plants, side shoots, and rhizome division. Simply allow the plant to reproduce by one of the above methods, and when the new plant forms its own leaves, separate and replants in another location of the aquarium. The Red Flame is sensitive to copper, so this type of medication should not be added to the aquarium where it is contained.

Live Arrival Guarantee
The shipment must be received on the first delivery attempt. If you miss the delivery and the package is delayed a day or more because of it, we cannot accept responsibility for any losses. It is your responsibility to check the tracking number for delivery. The shipment must be sent to the correct delivery address on file according to Paypal, do not request shipment to be delivered to another address not listed on your Paypal.
NOTE: We are not responsible for errors, postal delays, wrong addresses mail holds, or P.O. Box deliveries by the postal carrier. If USPS forwards your shipment in error, we do cover that type of mistake.
All claims must be made and or brought to our attention via etsy Messages within 24 hours of the package being delivered.
We ship USPS FIRST CLASS the majority of the time. If you would like to receive the plant sooner, you can opt for the USPS PRIORITY MAIL which would take a delivery time of 2-4 days. THIS WILL BE AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO YOU. You will get a tracking number, it is important you check this tracking number 2-3 times each day to see when the box will arrive at your home. Please make sure you are at home the day of the arrival or arrange for someone to be there to receive the plants/shrimp and that they know how to properly care for the plants/shrimp. The less time they spend in the box the better.
Shore Aquatic ships Monday & Tuesday in order to avoid the weekend. All orders placed after Monday 12 PM will be shipped the following Monday.
When will items ship?
We reserve the right to hold delivery due to inclement weather.
If you would like to receive your item faster, we recommend purchasing priority mail.
Temperature is very important for live delivery of plants. Please check the 7-day weather forecast in your location before placing your order. If the temperature in the coming days is too low (below 35F) or too high (above 90F), please do not order.
NOTE: USPS is slower than normal due to COVID restrictions.
DOA/Damaged Claims:
It is our honor and privilege to serve you. We hope that you are satisfied with everything. If you are for some reason not satisfied, please let us know as we are here to help make this hobby easy and enjoyable!
Livestock:
We guarantee live arrival on all our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 2 hours of delivery. Keep in mind these plants/livestock just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and to be at their best again. Please take clear photos of the dead plant/livestock and send it to us within 2 hours of receiving the item and send the clear photos to etsy once the item is validated by us, we will send a replacement or refund.
Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.
We guarantee live arrival of all livestock. This means we assure that livestock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive.
Do your plants have snails?
We try not to have snails/pests, but it happens, we remove any visible imperfections before shipment however to be 100% certain we suggest that you either do a 1:20 ratio bleach to water dip and/or wash the plants. Anytime you add something new to an aquarium it is important to rinse it off before adding just to be safe.
