With growing habits similar to the various types of Sagittaria, Jungle Val (Vallisneria gigantea) is the bigger, more robust version of these grass-like plants. Strap-like leaves can grow up to three feet long from a central node, and send out other little daughter plantlets readily.

Best for larger tanks, and planted towards the back!

Growing requirements:

65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
Ph 6-8
Low to Medium light intensity.

As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!

Grown submerged with minimal fertilizer and average light/ room temperatures. They are super adaptable and will work for your easy-care tank too.

I do have snails in tanks; I keep Colorful Ramshorns, Bronze Bladder and Pond snails, Mini Rams, and Malaysian Trumpets. None of these snails grow large, eat plants or are otherwise harmful in any way. If you'd absolutely rather not have these beneficial snail hitchhikers, definitely look up how to do a bleach or hydrogen peroxide dip.

These are snipped/ harvested and packed right before shipment.
I'm very careful, and I use methods that have consistently gotten the best results over years.

I’ve ordered 3-4 times from this seller and have always gotten quality plants, well packaged. I was unlucky this time as there was a shipping delay (usps fault, not seller) and I didn’t receive the plants until 10 days after the seller shipped. I’m hoping they bounce back!

This came in looking brown and sad, but it was so hot outside when I ordered the plant that I blame the weather lol. I put it in my snail tank, and hoped that once they'd eaten all of the bad leaves the plant would bounce back. It did. Val is now looking beautiful and putting out new growth. Always happy with the plants from this shop.
