"Force it" is a natural evolution traced by the band in relation to what they had created with their previous release.
This album is heavier, more cohesive and leaves behind all traces of late psychedelia from Bolton's era that remained. You may even discuss whether "high flyer" is still a remaining heritage of this genre, indeed it might be, but nothing changes the fact that the music is very beautiful.

Although many people complains about the production skills of Leo Lyons, in my opinion it sets the right tone for the heavy weight of MS guitar work and Pete Way' s bass . The rest he choose to leave in charge of the band. The intervention of sporadic Chick Churchill on the piano is in the right measure, without exaggeration as we can find in "no heavy Petting".
The tracks here persist in greater numbers up to nowadays in the set list and in the live anthologies from their catalogue, compared to Phenomenon: Let it roll, shoot shoot, this kids, mother mary and Out in the streets can be heard and found easily, and not without good reasons for that.

There is no weak song on this album, just outstanding songs and memorable songs.

Schenker playing is even ore conneced with the rest of the band and fits perfecty with Mogg's lyrics and melodies. Yes there are many melodies floating through the heavy stuff here, and that brings a special color to the sound of the record.
A forgotten song, "dance your life away" has one the ost memorable guitar solos ever.

Mother Mary was the first song I heard from them and it is still my favorite. Incidentally this is my favorite record, and even more, the best hard rock of all time, in my humble opinion.

Highly recommended.

Being a child of the 70's and the younger of 2 boys in the family there was a program on every Sunday Morning or Saturday can't really remember called "Don Kirshners Rock Concert." It was while watching this program I'd stay glued to the TV set watching who Don had basically signed and brought to the American listener. And was one of the large reason's why my older brother by 2.5 years would come to me to find out who was good and more over who would last. All one has to say is this > Phil Mogg-Vocals, Michael Schenker-Guitar, Pete Way-Bass, Andy Parker-Drums and U have one of the hottest Rock Bands to Blast out of the late 60's, the 70's etc. If you had a chance to see Mr Schenker play the guitar lucky you and if not look up some of the DVD's on Amazon. Older stuff the clothing will stretch your eyes a bit but Schenker is putting on a Rock Class/Blast with a few others in Las Vegas soon so it your a player and want to hang with a Rock God do so.

UFO was always underrated and never appreciated in U.S. like Europe, so I’ve read. What’s a girl to do with a tour de force like “Force It?” I bought it when it came out and since have had a go to copy on hand. Certainly begs the question, “What’s so good about it,” doesn’t it? I’ll tell you: The guitars are perky, fuzzy, paired with rock-boogie patterns that are catchy, infectious and power-driven. The vocals deliver the goods – nice, dry and tidy. The bass thuds in the background rocking low-end patterns right back to the guitars. And the drums do their things pounding a solid back beat. Now this is rock-n-roll: 1970’s pre heavy metal, no Randy Rhoads classical wizardry or fast Eddie Van Halen burning up the fret board – just straight ahead guitar chugging. UFO like other Euro bands Budgie, Status Quo no how to boogie. It’s in their DNA. The new remixed “Force It” is a great acquisition. Much needed, with nice packaging, informative liner notes, cleaner mixes and bonus cuts. Worth every penny.

Pretty good album. Not as great to me as Walk on Water but very good just the same

ufo were one of the best hard rock bands of all time. That's a fact. And they still make good cds. Although the last two were more bluesy than earlier efforts. They both still rock. But this is from another era!. And ufo were at the peak of their powers here. Songs like 'this kids' , 'mother mary' , 'shoot shoot' and others stand the test of time as real classic metal or hard rocks songs. Ufo started out as a late sixties acid rock (another form of metal really) band. By this time they were a full on hard rock monster of a band. WIth incredible songs and guitar playing.By this time the acid rock days were far behind them and they were creating well crafted and wonderful hard rockers and ballads too. My version of this has plenty of extra tracks on it. Get that one because if you are going to buy or download a great disc you might as well get the bonus tracks too.

I had this in LP many years ago. I love Michael Schenker's guitar playing. Especially on ballad "High Flyer". I love this CD. I could live without the picture on the cover. Putting CD in plain cover. Picture not appropriate with children around.

Ufo has had many ups and downs. And in a way it has made them who they are now. Like a great wine they just keep getting better with age. Released in 1975 "Force It" had the bands lineup with Phil Mogg - Vocals, Andy Parker - Drums, Pete Way - Bass, Michael Schenker - Guitars, and Chick Churchill - Guest on Keyboard.

1. Let It Rock

2. Shoot Shoot

3. High Flyer

4. Love Lost Love

5. Out In The Street

6. Mother Mary

7. Too Much Of Nothing

8. Dance Your Life Away

9. This Kid's (Including Between The Walls.)

You can't go wrong with a CD by UFO if you are into this style of hard rock.

I wasn't really familiar with UFO but have heard a couple of their songs in the past and liked them. Then I was talking to my brother-in-law and it's one of his favorite bands, so I did some looking around on amazon.com and ended up ordering "Force It" based on the reviews I read - Where Has This Band Been All My Life??!! What an awesome CD - every song is good. It's just straight-up, stripped-down 70's rock n roll!! Shoot Shoot and Let It Roll are probably my favorites, but really, you just turn the volume up and don't have to worry about it when you put this on. A must for any self-respecting person who's into 70's and 80's hard rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Great Rocker!

I was never a fan of UFO but recently I've been picking up the occasional album. I'm not keen on hard rock albums with lots of piano rock numbers and acoustic ballads or radio friendly pop rock tunes, and that's something that has made me cautious about UFO. But this album is nothing like that. The band is really cranking out the hard hitters with this album. The still fit in some cool melodies and a bit of more gentler music, but of the albums I have heard, this might just be UFO's most kick butt album. Michael Schenker is totally brilliant, playing great melodic leads, blazing up the fret board in just the right places, and delivering some awesome riffs with a great distortion sound. I am really pleased with this album. It's an excellent addition to any collection of really great seventies hard rock!

consigliato!
