These duckweed plants add a beautiful touch to the water surface while also providing shade and shelter for my fish. They have quickly multiplied, spreading across the surface, noticeably improving the water quality, with my tests showing it’s requiring water changes less frequently.
Additionally, the duckweed is incredibly easy to care for, no real maintenance, aside from removing excess growth when it gets to that point. I simply remove them occasionally to prevent overcrowding, and they continue to flourish.
The first picture is after putting the better 80% of the duckweed in my tank. The second picture is 23 days later. The duckweed has quickly grown to form a nice covering on both my tanks (8 and 2.5 gallon).
Only recommendation would be to get a floating feeding/viewing ring, as well as potentially a floating plant corral to keep the areas that you want open.
