ABBA Greatest Hits LP

To be precise: About seven years before The CD was introduced. I uploaded Three of the Images you see on one of this Album's pages here on Amazon so I thought I would tell you a little about This Album. It's Copyright Year was 1976 I believe and we purchased it from a (Then) "Record Club" around 1977. As most of you already know: They eventually were called "Music Clubs". We've had it about 35 years and it's still in Fair condition too. It's one of only a Few LP's we still own from those days. Just think....Abba had a Greatest Hits LP before "Dancing Queen" and this is it. I call that a remarkable feat! As A Matter Of Fact: If my memory is correct: "Dancing Queen" was Riding High On The Charts when this LP first came out! "Knowing Me Knowing You", "The Name Of The Game", "Take A Chance On Me" and Of Course "Dancing Queen" would eventually follow and they would be on this LP's Sequel and it was called "ABBA Greatest Hits: Volume 2" and according to another Review I read: Volume 2 came out in 1979. Volume 2's Four Classics can also be found on the More Modern "ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits" CD plus other ABBA CD's.Unless you are an LP (Album) Collecter or you still listen to LP's: there is not much of a Demand for these two Albums anymore but what I find intriguing about this particular 36 Year Old Album is it contains Two Hugely Popular American Hits that are NOT on The "ABBA Gold Greatest Hits" CD and those Two are "Honey Honey" and "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do! You will find those Two on "ABBA Gold's" Sequel and it's called "More ABBA Gold" However Four Classic Tunes that are on this LP ARE included on the "ABBA Gold" CD and they are "SOS", "Mamma Mia", "Waterloo" and "Fernando". You can also purchase this LP on CD but This O.O.P. CD is Terribly Expensive Plus with the Remastering on these newer CD's: I'd go for them.....Me Personally: I prefer "ABBA Gold" and "More ABBA Gold". They have both been updated anyway but my 1992 Version of "ABBA Gold" Sounds Great so I'm not really all that interested in purchasing the updated "ABBA Gold" CD's. I have saw a few ABBA Reviews where: In The 1970's: The Reviewer was ashamed to let any of his/her friends know that they were a Present Day Fan of ABBA but they were not ashamed of being A Fan of ABBA now. Folks: I Was Never Ashamed Of Being An ABBA Fan Then: Or Now! Afterall: We have owned their Music for almost Fourty Years! They Were Outstanding!....."Dance (While The Music Still Goes On)".....And It Does!F.Y.I.: Also from ABBA's Homeland of Sweden: "Roxette" would soon Emerge in The 80s And "Ace Of Base" would Emerge in The 90s and on a Scale Of One To Ten: I would Rate "Roxette" and "Ace Of Base" A Nine and ABBA A Ten! Three Bands With Stunning And Extreme Talent!
