Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan Appears on Damon Albarn’s Album Out Today

Natasha Khan, better known by as the chanteuse who performs as Bat For Lashes, is featured on the solo debut from Damon Albarn, frontman and songwriter for Blur/Gorillaz/The, Good, The Bad & The Queen. Khan’s ethereal vocals appear on “The Selfish Giant,” which also features production from XL Recordings founder Richard Russell. The album, titled Everyday Robot is out today on Russell’s label.

In a recent interview, Khan professed “If I could go back and tell the 15-year old me that I’d just sang with Damon for his new record, she’d probably wet her pants with excitement.” Albarn appropriately described her contribution on the track to Rolling Stone as “a ghostly echo of my voice.”

Khan, whose mother is British and father is Pakistani (and happens to be a well-known squash player and coach), has released three albums as Bat For Lashes; all of which were one of the best reviewed albums of their respects years and earned her multiple nominations for awards in the US and in Europe.
