Cultivation of oranges

Mandarin Oranges are round fruit that grows on a tree.  It can reach over 10 meters (33 ft) height. Trees of oranges have shiny dark green leaves with five petals small white flowers. The smell of flowers is very sweet which attracts bees.

Structure of an Orange

Orange has a tough shiny skin. From inside this fruit has different segments with thin tough skins that hold together many little sections with juice inside. Each orange usually has ten segments, but sometimes there are more.

Each segment also contains some seeds known as pips. You can also use these pips to grow orange trees. Usually, the technique that most people follow is by cutting a part of the orange tree root and plant it in the ground. The white fiber that separates segments of orange is known as pith. 

Different types of oranges have different layers of pith. In some types, you can simply apart segments by peeling off the pith and in some, you can not.  In mandarin oranges, the skin, pith, or segments can be taken apart very easily. Orange skin is known as orange peel.

Carbs

Pakistan grows many varieties of this exotic citrus fruit. The most popular form of orange in Pakistan is Mandarin Orange (an easy-peel variety of mandarin). Pakistan is one of the biggest exporters of oranges in Asia and Europe. There are four common types of Oranges that Pakistan produces.

KINNOW

It is known as the king of oranges. It has a round structure and an easy peeler. Pakistan produces the best quality Kinnow in the world. The figure for Kinnow export in Pakistan is moving forward with leaps and bounds. Kinnow has a juice content of over 47.5%. This is the highest among all types of oranges. It has 13% sugar content in each 100 mg and the best source of Vitamin C. 

SANGTRA

It is another type of Citrus that grows in Pakistan. It is also known as the sweet orange. Usually, it is available in Pakistan from Mid December to the end of January. In past, it was one of the luxury grown fruit in the foothills of the Himalayas. 

 MALTA

This is one of the most common types of orange that is grown in Pakistan. Malta has a lovely sour taste but it does not fall in the easy-peel variety. It is usually available during the period from November to February.

FRUITER

Fruiter orange is a small size citrus fruit and very easy to peel. They are sweet in taste and easy to peel.
