Want to color a map of Mexico? Here’s a free Mexico coloring page just in time for Cinco de Mayo.

Here are three fun facts of Cinco de Mayo to think about as you color your map of Mexico:

  1. Cinco de Mayo, means the fifth of May. It’s a holiday that celebrates the date of Mexico’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War, on May 5, 1862.  It’s actually not that big a celebration in Mexico but it is in the United States, as it’s become a day we honor Mexican culture.
  2. Americans eat about 81 million avocados during Cinco de Mayo.
  3. While often confused, Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence Day. That’s on September 16.
