How To Make Spanish Flan

A creamy and decadent dessert with a caramel topping.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until it turns into a golden brown caramel.

  3. Pour caramel into a baking dish, tilting it to coat the bottom and halfway up the sides.

  4. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add milk and vanilla extract, and mix well.

  5. Pour mixture over the caramel.

  6. Place the baking dish on a larger dish filled with an inch of water.

  7. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  8. Chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours.

  9. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan and invert onto a platter.
