Betta Splendens (Colour and Tail Shapes)

This post is just about the colour and tail shapes of Betta, I will post another article about how do you care Betta next week. *This article does not covers how to care for Betta.

 

Colours and Fin Shapes

Bettas are vibrant and they come many colours ranging from solid colour to a mixture of few different colours, they also come in various fin shapes and pattern.

Here are some examples of fin shapes and colours:

Halfmoon – Second mosty popular fin type Betta, they have a beautiful caudal tail, which is the shape of a halfmoon and spreads at a 180 degree angle when they flare.

Veil Tail – Veil tail Betta’s tail arch up, then goes down, which look like a veil, many other fishes also has fishes. First one that comes to my mind is Goldfish. *This is also the most popular fin type Betta.

Crowntail – Crowntail Betta have spiky tail and fins. They are very unique and popular

Delta Tail- are non-Halfmoon Betta. A non-Halfmoon is when the tail has straight caudal edges just like a Halfmoon, but they don’t reach 180 degrees when they flare.

Royal Blue Delta

Super Delta – The Super Delta is similar to a Delta Tail but they can branch out more, usually 150 or 160 degree angle when they flare.

Plakat – shorter tail version of common Betta, they tend to be more active as the have a lesser
body weight compare to a long tailed Betta.

Rose Tail –  A rose tail Betta has excessive branching and overlapping fins which gives the appearance of a rose.

Feather Tail – The feather tail Betta is very similar to the rose tail, but tends to have a more ruffled appearance.

Double Tail – Two tails.

Colour

Solid – Bascically Bettas with only one colour usually red, blue, black, white, albino or turquoise.

Solid Orange Super Delta

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bi-colour – Bettas with fins which has a different colour from the body.

Cambodian – Bettas with pale body colour and solid fin colour.

Butterfly – Bettas with distinctive bands of colours.

Mustard Gas – A mustard gas Betta is a Betta with either a green or blue body with yellow or orange fins.

    Those are nice bettas but I’m breeding a pair of fighter plakat bettafish they will have lots of babies once they become mid adult they will start their stamina training they are outside and inside fighters and I plan on sending 3 to Cambodia for fighting they will outlast any of them in Cambodia cause they fight for 7 to 8 hours.
