If the whispers of fall have you eager to start streaming nothing but scary movies, you are in luck. That’s because the new Child’s Play, a remake of the 1988 original and a reboot of the viciously venerable franchise, is coming to a living room near you.
The film features legendary voice actor Mark Hamill as the new voice of Chucky, bringing all of that Joker menace to the homicidal toy. As for the live-action cast, Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman star as the mother and son that are terrorized by the Buddi doll. Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) also stars as a detective on Chucky’s trail.

Child’s Play will slash its way into digital storefronts on September 10. That includes all your fave VOD retailers, like Apple, Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, FandangoNow, and more. Be warned: if you plan on buying Child’s Play on Blu-ray, a digital copy of the film comes with that release.
When will Child’s Play be available to rent digitally?
If you just want to check out Child’s Play without paying full price for a digital copy, you’ll be able to rent the slasher revival on September 24.

Child’s Play will be released in two different formats on September 24. You’ll be able to buy it on Blu-ray (which also includes a digital code) and DVD.

You’ll be able to purchase Child’s Play on DVD on September 24. That’s the only way you’ll be able to get a DVD disc, too, since it looks like the Blu-ray pack won’t come with a DVD copy of the film.

Probably never. Child’s Play was distributed by United Artists Releasing, and it doesn’t look like they have a deal with Netflix to bring new releases to streaming.

Again, probably never–just going off of where previous United Artists movies ended up. So, where did they end up?
When will Child’s Play be available on Hulu?
Probably on Hulu! A lot of films associated with UA (If Beale Street Could Talk, The Sisters Brothers, Destroyer, Vice, Operation Finale, etc.) are all on Hulu. That means that Child’s Play is likely to end up there as well, although it’s not clear when. It took anywhere between four months to a year after theatrical release for those films to end up on Hulu, which means Child’s Play could arrive on Hulu as soon as the end of October (just in time for Halloween??).
