Whitney Thompson, winner of America’s Next Top Model, Cycle 10, was the first plus size model to compete on the show, let alone win.  She has become an inspiration to young girls around the world and is a spokeswomen for many organizations.  She is an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association and travels around the United States motivating young girls to love themselves.  Whitney is a size 10, which is below the average size in North America, but is still considered plus size in the fashion industry.  What is this saying to young girls?  Whitney constantly reminds people that she has an optimal BMI and therefore is healthy and not fat.  Whitney is slowly trying to change how girls think of themselves and what is considered beautiful in the media.  She is truly a role model that everyone should look up to.
