This Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit Cabriolet got away, but there are more like it here.
This 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet is a triple-white example that is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a white soft top with a heated glass rear window, power steering, a roll bar, air conditioning, power windows, and 14″ alloy wheels. The car has spent much of its life in Maine, where it was acquired by the seller in 2020. Work performed following the seller’s acquisition reportedly included a clutch replacement. This Cabriolet shows 64k miles and is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and Maine registration in the seller’s name.
The Cabriolet was manufactured by Karmann, and this example is finished in white with a color-coordinated convertible top and top boot cover. Additional equipment includes a roll bar, a black grille, quad headlights, and body-color bumpers and side skirts. Paint touch-ups are visible on the rear bumper.
Seven-spoke 14″ alloy wheels wear 135/65 Dextero Touring DTR1 tires. Equipment includes power rack-and-pinion steering along with power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cockpit houses manually adjustable front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in white upholstery with patterned inserts. Appointments include air conditioning, a heated glass rear window, and power windows. The car is also equipped with an AM/FM cassette stereo, though the cassette player functionality has not been tested.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset readout for fuel level, and a gauge for coolant temperature. A trio of gauges for voltage, oil pressure, and oil temperature are mounted in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added during current ownership.
The 1.8-liter inline-four produced 94 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes that the clutch was replaced in 2020. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Maine and Missouri. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
