This Honda CBX got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1980 Honda CBX Super Sport is an early model year example that was manufactured in Japan before CBX production moved to Honda’s Ohio factory. The bike is powered by an air-cooled 1,047cc inline-six paired with a five-speed transmission and is finished in black with gold and red pinstripes. Features include front and rear disc brakes, black ComStar aluminum wheels, and a chrome six-into-two exhaust system. Serviced performed following the seller’s 2020 acquisition included changing the oil and brake fluid, cleaning the carburetors, and replacing the brake pads. This CBXA is offered with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, a Honda air fork pressure gauge, and a Ohio title.

The tail section, side panels, fenders, and replacement 5.3-gallon fuel tank are finished in black with red and gold pinstripes. Features include a steel diamond frame that uses the engine as a stressed member, both center and side stands, a stepped two-up seat with a passenger grab strap, a storage compartment in the tail section, and forged aluminum foot pegs and mounting brackets. The seller notes that the turn signals have been replaced.

Suspension consists of a 35mm air-assist fork as well as dual preload-adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm. The seller states that the brake fluid and pads have been replaced.

The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles, 200 of which were ridden by the seller.

The air-cooled 1,047cc DOHC inline-six was factory rated at 98 horsepower and 52 lb-ft of torque and breathes through six Keihin 28mm constant-velocity carburetors and a chrome six-into-two exhaust system. Features include an oil cooler, hollow camshafts, and a V-shaped carburetor arrangement to narrow the assembly. Service by the seller is said to have included an oil and filter change and a carburetor cleaning.
