This Volvo 140 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1973 Volvo 142 is said to have undergone a multi-year refurbishment in the 2000s while owned by a member of the family founders of Stillman Volvo in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Subsequently displayed on the showroom floor, the car is finished in green over tan upholstery, and power comes from a 2.0-liter inline-four joined to a four-speed manual transmission with electrically actuated overdrive. A GT-style steering wheel, a tachometer, a Sony CD stereo, and larger sway bars have been added, while other equipment includes 15” wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and mud flaps. Acquired by the seller in 2020, this 142 is now offered at no reserve in New York with owner’s manuals, tools, spare parts, refurbishment records, and a Florida title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Cypress Green (110), and the seller states that the body was stripped to bare metal before a repaint during the aforementioned refurbishment. A black plastic grille and revised tail panel were introduced for the 1973 model year, and other details include a left-side mirror, Volvo-branded mud flaps, and chrome bumpers with rub strips. The seller notes scratched paint on the passenger fender behind the bumper.

Silver-finished 15” steel wheels wear polished trim rings and are mounted with 195/60 Bridgestone Eager tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and larger sway bars were installed under prior ownership.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan cloth and vinyl complemented by color-coordinated door panels and brown carpets. Tears in the side of the driver’s seat cushion can be viewed in the image gallery below.
