This Volvo 140 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1971 Volvo 142GT is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four joined to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and it is finished in blue over black upholstery. Equipment includes dual Solex ADDHE carburetors, 15” alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, driving lights, a GT-style steering wheel, and Rallye-style instrumentation. This 142GT was acquired by the owner, a retail dealer, in 2016, and it is now offered by the seller on their behalf at no reserve with a spare instrument cluster and a clean Florida title listing the car as a 1972 model.

GT options were available for the 140 series through Volvo dealers and included distinguishing exterior and interior details. This example left the factory finished in California White (42) and was repainted in blue under prior ownership. Exterior features include a black grille with inset yellow-lens driving lights as well as GT badging, pop-out quarter windows, and chrome bumpers with rubber guard strips. Cracked paint, pitted brightwork, and blemishes around the car are shown up close in the gallery.

The 15” alloy wheels have black-finished recesses and are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires. The car is fitted with front and rear sway bars, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

The grab handles on the right side of the headliner are missing, and wear on the front passenger seat cushion can be viewed in the gallery.

Rallye-style instrumentation consists of a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles.
