Long tube snout, eyespot on rear dorsal fin.

Size : 20 cm

Habitat : At coastal and interior reefs, also in sandy muddy areas with murky water, 1-25 m. Territorial species. Alone or in pairs. Feeds on small invertebrates, which are picked out with the tube snout from small crevices.

Distribution : Andaman Sea and NW Australia to SW Japan, the Philippines, PNG and GBR.
